The brief, the light, the result
Hair photographs well only when it moves, and moving hair blurs. We used strobes with a very short flash duration so every strand froze, and two stage fans to push the hair where the light could catch it.
Six styles in one day meant the set never changed: the light stayed rigged and the hair team rotated behind a curtain. Each style got two minutes of fan and about forty frames.
The same rig ran a high-speed camera for the social cutdowns, which held viewers 31% longer than the brand’s previous product films.
